About Eldar Makhmudov Eldar brings over 28 years of experience in physical therapy to the treatment table. He is an acclaimed specialist in the methods of Neuromuscular Re-Education. His patients include athletes, dancers, martial artists, bodybuilders as well as non-athletes who have painful movement problems due to adhesions or restrictions in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. He has been practicing in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades, and Venice, California for the last 19 years. Many people develop muscular or joint pain that is persistent due to small-trauma scar tissue called "adhesions." If left uncorrected, small soft-tissue problems can cause a cascading effect within our posture that can create muscular tension, restricted movement, and, in some cases, joint degeneration and debilitating pain. Neuromuscular Reeducation helps correct this by decreasing soft tissue problems within muscles, ligaments, tendons, and connective tissue. Injuries, chronic tension, can also cause a progressive thickening of the fascia (connective tissue) that surrounds our muscles and joints. This, in turn, can cause muscles and other tissues to bind to each other (adhesions), preventing them from working independently of the surrounding tissues. This restricts our movement, and often produces muscle and joint pain. Tense and rigid muscles can also impinge on nerves, cause ischemia (reduced blood flow), and produce chronic pain and muscular fatigue. Neuromuscular Reeducation focuses on the reflexes in areas of the body that detect and respond to irritation. Persistent irritation produces a chronic pain cycle within the body and often leads to an ingraining of the pain message, inflammation, reduced flexibility, reduced range of motion. Neuromuscular Reeducation also increases our awareness of the larger problem of posture and biomechanics. By helping identify personal behaviors that play a role in perpetuating pain, we are able to change the ways we move and use our body that causes us pain and discomfort. Neuromuscular Reeducation uses muscular stretching, myo-fascial release, deep tissue bodywork, trigger point therapy, and specialized biomechanical exercises. By creating new ways of resting, holding, and using our body, we are able to move with more efficiency and balance in our daily lives, and thus reducing physical pain and eliminating the cycle of pain. |
Neuromuscular Reeducation also improves circulation to tissues, and frees adhesions that may be causing nerve entrapment. It is beneficial for individuals with chronic pain associated with tendonitis, repetitive strain injury, overuse, sports-related trauma, and poor posture. Treatment: Therapy is performed at our offices in Santa Monica, West Los Angeles, or at your location travel within 20 miles. |
